About Discover e

The mission of the Hanford Engineers Week Committee is to encourage students to pursue careers in science and engineering.  All student outreach activities are performed by volunteers, and most presenters are engineers working in our community.

Over the years, tens of thousands of children have been positively impacted by the generosity of our volunteers.  Last year alone, over 7,500 local students experienced the field of engineering through classroom presentations and hands-on projects.

The local Middle School Discover E program consists of a classroom visit by engineers to present an introduction to engineering and lead a hands-on activity that is appropriate for the grade level.

Most classroom visits are held during Engineers Week which is the third week of February each year.
